Education Grants
Helping lift literacy and numeracy for primary school students, Westpac Foundation supports organisations advancing equitable education outcomes. All children deserve the chance to thrive at school and in life, no matter their background.
Westpac Foundation’s grants fund organisations that strengthen conditions for learning and build strong literacy and numeracy foundations, and those connecting schools with community to improve wellbeing and learning outcomes. We focus on primary school students facing the greatest barriers to learning.
Westpac Foundation also invests in networks and collaborations seeking to influence systemic education disadvantage through programs, policy, advocacy, capacity building, or research.
Westpac Foundation has committed $3 million over three years to Australian Schools Plus to support its Foundations for Learning program.
The program strengthens teaching and learning practice in primary schools to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for students experiencing disadvantage. Schools Plus provides coaching, resources, and evaluation support to help schools implement locally relevant, evidence-based initiatives.
The funding will be distributed through grants to more than 100 low ICSEA primary schools to support school designed improvement programs. This grant complements Westpac’s Community Partnership with Schools Plus, which supports the delivery and evaluation of a new coaching framework focused on foundational literacy and numeracy.
